We spoke with Taylor Bennett , Executive Director of the West Virginia Land Stewardship Corporation (WVLSC). TB: Currently no local land bank in West Virginia has a dedicated full-time staff. Soon we’ll also be offering additional legal support for land banks of local governments that do not have a fulltime city attorney.

35 percent of respondents reported their land banks are currently engaged in vacant lot stewardship and 25 percent are planning vacant lot stewardship projects within the next three years (Figure 3). Continued support, education, and advocacy towards local-level political leadership is necessary for effective long-term partnerships.
