I joke that I didn't start understanding patience within community organizing until my 40s, when I realized a "fast tracked" transportation project takes 10 years. Because it would bring the executive and legislative branches together, with citizens, and a foundational agenda (from the plan). Build on it. (4)

Visit a historic railroad station, bus terminal and/or a transportation museum. Railroad stations tend to be grand while older bus stations tend to be gnarly, which is an interesting commentary on the place of these respective modes in transportation history and practice.
