We spoke with Taylor Bennett , Executive Director of the West Virginia Land Stewardship Corporation (WVLSC). WVLSC provides as many additional resources for local land banks as possible, including convening monthly meetings to share best practices, training, and advocacy support. The bill ran in 2014 and passed that same year.

35 percent of respondents reported their land banks are currently engaged in vacant lot stewardship and 25 percent are planning vacant lot stewardship projects within the next three years (Figure 3). Continued support, education, and advocacy towards local-level political leadership is necessary for effective long-term partnerships.
