It's doing some great bike infrastructure, some of which we will be trying to get for the perimeter of Sugar House Park. There is a local walking and transit advocacy group called Sweet Streets , that helped promote this change.) A traffic lane was removed and an in-ROW bicycle lane was installed on 900 East adjacent to Fairmont Park.

All to the good, I was surprised to see that more than a handful of houses have gates so they can access the trail, some with elaborate connections because of grade. There were incursions onto the corridor from some houses but it was pretty rare--some bad, but many would be considered acceptable--growing stuff, art works, etc.

Planning at the landscape scale for Sugar House Park: the cultural landscape. The state has the Jordan River Commission , and the advocacy group, the Seven Canyons Trust , works on creek daylighting issues throughout the County. As a result, Sugar House Park was rebuilt in part as a flood control structure. Water conservation.

Early on cities had public restrooms and baths because much of housing did not. As bathrooms became more prevalent in housing and as local government budgets declined and demands increased, provision of public restrooms was one of the first services to be eliminated. This is common for many cities--no public restrooms.
