That was in the mid 1970s, and now the trees are maybe 50 feet tall--this photo is from 2018, and the trees in question are behind the garage. For example, one tree she learned about was planted as a barter between a family that helped a poorer one heat their house in a particularly cold winter. Some died and we nursed the others.

Five are under the city-- Liberty, Pioneer, Fairmont, Jordan, and Sunnyside, and one, Sugar House, is owned by the city and county both, and run by an independent authority (I'm on the board). For example, one of the things I am lobbying for in Salt Lake is to create an evening shift for park maintenance. There are six large city parks.

It’s good business' " One of the many regrets I have is not getting a PhD in planning. My intended thesis was around urban planning and civic participation and engagement, because local land use issues are the issue most likely to get people involved in local civic affairs, other than having children and being involved in education issues.
