As a book pointed out, if that doesn't communicate that Mayoral control isn't the solution, nothing does. Many school systems have formal councils that bring parents, teachers and school officials together on a committee that isn't powerful, that deals with "school transformation." For decades, in Chicago, the Mayor runs the school system.

A fund for small projects should be created for each ward, and the Participatory Budgeting process should be used to allocate funds (" An update on Participatory Budgeting practice in New York City ," 2018).

That was in the mid 1970s, and now the trees are maybe 50 feet tall--this photo is from 2018, and the trees in question are behind the garage. Earlier this year I acquired an amazing set of materials, developed in the 1950s, although this set was from 1960, promoting advocacy and conservation, produced by the US Forest Service.

In 2018, the City of Somerville renovated the park, turning it from baseball fields into a lively space with a skate park, parkour area, basketball court, multiple playgrounds, hammock poles, a community garden, and much more.
