Nicole is now the Communications Coordinator for the Delaware County District Library, a five-branch system with a bookmobile and other outreach services. Nicole came to the library in 2012. She had one Communication Specialist but was certain she needed more help. DCDL serves a population of nearly 166,000 people.

I think that the real problem has been lack of neighborhood communication and education, heightened by the reality of car centricity, which automobile dependent residents aren't inclined to question--they just take it for granted. They have the capacity for community communication. The roundabout just popped up with no notice.

This was proposed a number of years ago for EM, first in the Barry Administration and then around 2012-2013, but the vendors fought it, with the support of now Mayor Muriel Bowser. Cost could be based on income, and there should be an equity and outreach program to ensure the demographics of participants reflect DC's demographics.
