In 2011, Camden County, in far eastern North Carolina, had only one grocery. Supporting rural grocery stores has been a target of federal funding through the USDA’s Healthy Foods Financing Initiative (HFFI), first authorized in 2014. Cooperatives and nonprofit ventures are another. By 2016, it had lost that store.

a Bike Expo in association with the 5 Boro Ride, which had more than 100 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees in 2014. It's worth exploring providing it, perhaps on a nonprofit basis, to discourage car ownership and promote sustainable mobility, while still providing access to cars as necessary. NYC sponsors(ed?)
