But there isn't a rush to expand it, or to create conditions where sustainable modes are first choice for getting around. DC needs to be much more active when it comes to TDM (it does have some requirements), including the creation of Transportation Demand Management Districts (I suggested this for DC starting in 2005!!!!!!!!)

It's an old rail corridor that was acquired by the Utah Transit Authority (" From rails to trails ," Deseret News , 2005) and is a joint project with the communities it passes through. And yes, they have an Active Transportation Committee focused on developing sustainable mobility options. I rode this trail the other day.

In 2005, I served on the advisory committee for the International Public Markets Conference which covered both DC and Baltimore that year, led a tour, etc. I first proposed to the city creating TMDs in 2005/2006. It should support sustainable modes (biking, walking, transit improvements) as well as parking. They still haven't.
