The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency started Cybersecurity Awareness Month back in 2004 with the goal of increasing awareness around cyber threats in both the public and private sectors. As threats have only evolved and become more sophisticated in the nearly 20 years since this program began, it feels more relevant than ever.
Many libraries have taken advantage of this program since it was launched in 2004. That grant money has been used to promote catalog items, educational resources, passport services, business and career resources, summer reading programs, and more. Thousands of nonprofits use the program.
